Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Associate Attorney with foundational experience in immigration law, especially in removal defense and USCIS matters. The role involves legal representation in immigration court, family court for SIJS-related cases, and some appellate advocacy. Ideal candidates will bring strong legal research and writing capabilities, effective case management, and the ability to supervise support staff in a fast-paced environment. Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload involving removal defense, family-based petitions, and asylum matters

• Represent clients during hearings before the Immigration Court and USCIS interviews

• Handle Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases in family court

• Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and appellate documents

• Conduct in-depth legal research related to immigration and appellate issues

• Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients throughout case progression

• Oversee and mentor legal support staff to ensure case efficiency and quality

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely filing of documents and responses

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in immigration law, including removal defense and USCIS procedures

• Proven ability to manage high-volume caseloads and meet critical deadlines

• Strong legal writing and verbal advocacy skills

• Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Fluency or strong proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of California

Skills:

• Bilingual communication (English/Spanish preferred)
