Job Title: Associate Immigration Attorney
Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney through a recruiting agency. Duties:
Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews.
Represent detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Conduct client intake interviews, including visits to detention facilities when necessary.
Prepare and review immigration petitions and applications across a range of case types, with an emphasis on removal defense and family-based matters.
Draft and submit legal briefs and supporting documentation for various immigration filings.
Engage with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and nonprofit organizations to provide updates and training on immigration law developments.
Conduct consultations with prospective clients to evaluate eligibility and define case strategies.
Provide detailed legal analysis and identify potential immigration benefits for clients.
Utilize case management software to maintain accurate records and case progress.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated immigration law experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage a diverse caseload.
Proficiency in client counseling and case strategy development.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
Prior experience appearing before EOIR, USCIS, and handling family-based and humanitarian immigration petitions.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
Certifications:
None required beyond active bar admission.
Skills:
Advanced written and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced legal environment.
Proficiency with immigration case management software is preferred.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
