Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A San Antonio-based law firm is seeking a full-time Associate to join its litigation team, focusing on high-stakes personal injury matters, including commercial vehicle and trucking accidents. This on-site role involves comprehensive case handling from drafting pleadings and managing discovery to preparing for trial while supporting senior attorneys in developing and executing litigation strategies. The position is ideal for a motivated legal professional with foundational experience who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative trial practice environment.

Duties:

• Draft legal document, including pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Prepare cases for mediation, deposition, hearings, and trial

• Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing parties

• Conduct legal research and write memoranda

• Assist with formulating litigation and trial strategies

• Appear in court for motions and procedural hearings

• Participate in or take depositions of parties and witnesses

• Collaborate with legal staff and attorneys on case development

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in personal injury litigation

• Courtroom experience with motion hearings (e.g., MSJ, Motion to Compel)

• Deposition experience (e.g., defending plaintiffs, deposing defendants/witnesses)

• Ability to handle multiple active cases efficiently

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving mindset

• Willingness to travel as needed

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Texas

Skills:
