A law firm seeks an associate attorney for its Garden City, New York office with over three years of experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense litigation. This role requires a motivated individual capable of managing a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, with a focus on automobile negligence actions, including UM/UIM and PIP claims.

Duties

• Independently and collaboratively handle a litigation caseload focused on personal injury and automobile negligence defense.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions, appear in court, and handle motion practice.
• Perform extensive legal research on complex coverage and liability issues, including UM/UIM and PIP matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure compliance with client litigation guidelines.
• Meet all litigation deadlines and case management obligations.
• Accurately record and maintain billable hours.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the State of New York (NJ, CT, and/or PA admission is a plus).
• 3+ years of experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense litigation.
• Experience handling UM/UIM, PIP, and related civil defense matters.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to producing high-quality, detail-oriented work.
• Federal Court experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
