Job Title: Associate Attorney
Location: Tampa, FL
A well-established, multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights is looking for an Associate Attorney to join their default servicing practice. This opportunity provides an exciting chance to support a growing practice and engage with a diverse range of legal matters, from creditor’s rights to complex litigation. Handle a significant caseload within the creditors' rights practice, focusing on default servicing matters.
Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and other legal forums.
Manage discovery processes and provide strategic resolutions to complex legal challenges.
Engage in conflict resolution and assist clients with regulatory compliance.
Work collaboratively with the team, including mentoring junior staff, to ensure excellent legal service delivery.
Assist in business development efforts to grow the firm’s presence in the industry.
Some travel may be required for court appearances and client meetings.
Licensed and in good standing with the Rhode Island Bar. Additional memberships in New Hampshire or Massachusetts are a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in creditors' rights and default servicing.
Ability to manage a significant volume of cases effectively.
Strong understanding of legal concepts, including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
Experience in appellate law is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate complex legal matters effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Must be comfortable handling court appearances and managing cases across multiple jurisdictions.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the Rhode Island Bar is required.
Additional Bar certifications (New Hampshire and Massachusetts) are beneficial.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving legal issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues.
Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior attorneys.
Sound judgment and the ability to make strategic legal decisions under pressure.
