Job Overview
A growing Florida-based law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in auto negligence and insurance defense litigation. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of complex litigation matters, including personal injury and medical malpractice claims. The position offers significant responsibility from day one, including direct file ownership and the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of complex litigation files from inception through settlement or trial

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda

• Conduct legal research and advise clients on case strategy and developments

• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances

• Prepare witnesses and clients for testimony

• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution

• Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

• Stay up to date on applicable case law, statutes, and litigation procedures

Requirements

• Experience in auto negligence, personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance defense litigation

• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload

• Excellent case organization, file management, and follow-through

• Proven success in litigation, including settlement negotiations or trial prep

• Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering client-focused service

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Florida

Skills

• Strong legal writing and verbal communication

• Legal research and case analysis

• Litigation strategy and negotiation

• Client counseling and relationship management

• Proficiency with litigation software and document management systems

• Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution processes
