Location

Duties

• Represent clients in divorce, custody, and other family law proceedings

• Appear in court, attend depositions and mediations as necessary

• Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, judgments, and orders

• Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients

• Maintain regular communication with clients and legal team members

• Manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Michigan (or eligibility to waive in)

• 1–4 years of litigation experience, preferably in family law

• Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills

• Ability to manage cases independently and within a team

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities

• Willingness to work in-office in Kalamazoo twice weekly and attend court as needed

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan (Indiana license holders near the Michiana region with willingness to waive into Michigan are also encouraged to apply)
