Job Title: Claims Management And Coverage Counsel

Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm in Miami, FL, seeks a talented attorney with significant experience in claims management and coverage analysis. The role involves providing strategic counsel on claims handling, risk management, and insurance coverage matters across a range of specialty and professional lines. This position offers the option for fully remote work, allowing flexibility for qualified candidates.

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload of claims independently, from initiation through final resolution

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of coverage, liability, and damages issues involving professional liability, employment practices liability, real estate liability, miscellaneous professional liability, and directors and officers (D&O) insurance

• Draft reservation of rights letters and coverage denial communications

• Proactively monitor ongoing claims and develop strategic plans for resolution

• Engage and coordinate with outside counsel to drive efficient and favorable outcomes

• Prepare detailed client reports offering exposure analysis and reserve recommendations

• Resolve claims directly through negotiation and participation in mediations

• Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys on high-level legal projects

• Maintain consistent communication with clients, insurance carriers, and outside counsel

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Minimum of 3 years of experience focused on insurance coverage and claims management

• Demonstrated ability to draft comprehensive coverage opinions and denial letters

• Previous law firm experience is highly desirable

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Strong negotiation and legal research skills

• Expertise in interpreting insurance policies and identifying risk mitigation strategies

• Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage a high-volume caseload

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active Bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:
