Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney in Newport Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer protection and a minimum of seven years of litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to engage in complex litigation against car manufacturers and dealers, with a focus on aggressive discovery-driven tactics.

Duties

• Conduct complex research projects for case prosecution.
• Assume responsibility for trial efforts, typically as second or third chair.
• Draft moving papers and oppositions on novel issues.
• Appear at hearings for motions and oppositions.
• Conduct depositions of key witnesses and experts.
• Provide assistance with trial strategy.
• Oversee junior attorneys as designated by the Supervising Partner.
• Recommend improvements in client communication efforts.
• Collaborate on policy implementation and improvements.
• Provide legal support for inter- and intradepartmental operations.
• Ensure timely resolution of arising issues.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of the California Bar.
• At least seven years of litigation experience.
• Interest in consumer protection and representation.
• Experience supervising and training junior attorneys preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and apply technology solutions.
• Ability to travel within California as needed.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Member in good standing of the California Bar.
