A law firm seeks an experienced family law attorney to join their team in a fully remote capacity, serving clients throughout Middle and South Georgia, including Macon, Warner Robins, Columbus, Valdosta, Albany, and Thomasville. This role offers the opportunity to handle impactful family law cases while working from home, with travel required for court appearances and other proceedings.

Duties

• Independently manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, and child support.
• Develop strategic case plans based on facts, law, and client objectives.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex issues.
• Draft clear and persuasive legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Travel to courts in Middle and South Georgia for in-person appearances as needed.
• Negotiate settlements intelligently and aggressively when appropriate.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals on complex cases.
• Communicate proactively with clients about legal details and strategies.
• Maintain organized and accurate case files and billing records.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Georgia.
• 5+ years of family law litigation experience.
• Experience handling contested family law matters.
• Courtroom experience and confidence to advocate independently.
• Based in Middle Georgia with ability to travel for proceedings.
• Professional home-office setup for remote work.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Georgia State Bar.
