A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney with 3-10 years of legal experience to join their litigation team in Fairfax, Virginia. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys advocacy, courtroom work, depositions, negotiation, and developing cases from intake through resolution.

Duties

• Handle personal injury case files from start to finish.
• Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to clients.
• Draft, review, and modify legal documents including motions and pleadings.
• Research case law and gather relevant evidence.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and insurance adjusters.
• Negotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of clients.
• Represent clients at hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Document and update case files in the management system.
• Prepare for trial and conduct pre-trial depositions.
• Perform administrative and management functions related to law practice.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Active Virginia Bar license.
• Strong legal writing, advocacy, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Commitment to outstanding client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

• Active Virginia Bar license.

Skills

• Experience in personal injury litigation preferred.
• Deposition and courtroom experience preferred.
• Trial experience in General District or Circuit Court preferred.
• Experience negotiating settlements with insurance carriers preferred.
• Familiarity with Filevine or similar case management systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Westlaw.
