Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a skilled associate to join its nationally recognized Government Contracts practice in Washington, D.C. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in government contracts disputes, corporate transactions, and investigations. The position provides a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of government contract matters, including litigation, regulatory issues, and compliance matters, with exposure to high-profile cases and clients.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with government contract disputes, including litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Provide support for corporate transactions involving government contracts.
  • Advise clients on suspension and debarment issues.
  • Work on matters related to the False Claims Act and internal investigations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on government contracting issues.
  • Participate in hearings, motions practice, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client management.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in government contracts law.
  • Experience in government contracts disputes, corporate transactions, or investigations is preferred.
  • Exposure to the False Claims Act and suspension/debarment matters is a plus.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues in a high-stakes environment.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school (Graduation years 2020–2022 preferred).

Certifications:

  • Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance issues.
  • Experience with internal investigations and government enforcement matters is a plus.
