A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 1-3 years of experience in Downstate New York. This role offers a unique opportunity for a junior attorney to enhance litigation skills within a collaborative environment. The position is based in Newark, NJ.

Duties

• Assist with all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive reports and analysis.
• Participate in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate.
• Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with client guidelines.
• Maintain accurate time records and billing entries.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Admission to practice in New York is required; additional bar admissions in NJ, CT, or PA are a plus.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, team-oriented demeanor.
• Federal court or appellate experience is a plus, but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
