A law firm seeks a litigation associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their practice in New York City. The firm specializes in union-side labor law and ERISA matters, representing labor unions and trustees of multiemployer pension and health funds in federal court litigation.

Duties

• Manage federal court litigation from early stages through resolution
• Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment
• Manage complex discovery and take/defend depositions
• Represent clients in arbitrations and administrative proceedings
• Advise union clients and employee benefit funds

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on litigation experience, including in federal court
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions under the FRCP
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Admission to the New York Bar

Preferred

• ERISA or labor/employment experience
• Candidates with strong federal court litigation experience who are interested in developing expertise in this area are encouraged to apply

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Certifications

• Admission to the New York Bar
