A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate to join its team in Dallas, TX. This role focuses on providing strategic counsel to domestic and international insurers on complex insurance coverage disputes, including first-party property claims, third-party liability issues, and bad faith litigation. The ideal candidate will be a motivated legal professional with strong writing skills and the ability to lead cases independently within a fast-paced environment.

Location:

• Dallas, Texas

Duties:

• Analyze first-party insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions

• Provide ongoing coverage advice to insurance carrier clients

• Assist in litigation including declaratory judgment actions and defense litigation filed by policyholders

• Draft pleadings, motions with supporting briefs, and mediation statements

• Communicate with opposing counsel, courts, clients, experts, and consultants

• Conduct legal research using platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis

• Prepare and respond to discovery requests; draft subpoenas

• Manage document review and production for litigation matters

• Take and defend depositions; attend hearings and mediations

• Coordinate with and manage expert witnesses and consultants

Requirements:

• 3–4 years of insurance coverage experience, including both first-party and third-party claims

• Strong litigation background with demonstrable case handling experience

• Ability to lead matters independently and manage deadlines effectively

• Experience working with bad faith and business interruption claims is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Texas (required)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing matters

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
