Senior Manager, Special Assets
The candidate leads aggressive and comprehensive workout strategy to ensure optimal loss protection to the Bank in terms of both time and money, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Negotiates and contracts with various professionals such as attorneys, appraisers, brokers, etc. to provide services to ensure best cost/benefit return to Bank. Evaluates financial information, collateral, legal documentation and other available information to project probable and maximum loss exposure to Bank. Proactively seeks to improve processes and implement best in class solutions, raising quality and productivity in a calculated way. Leads criticized and watch list internal governance process and ensure compliance with all reporting and regulatory requirements. Creates a culture of sharing lessons learned within Special Assets and back to the origination functions in order to avoid future mistakes. Benchmarks own performance against industry best practices. Acts as credit officer and risk management specialist on a portfolio of consulting relationships with other departments. Bachelor’s degree or Military experience is required. MBA or JD degree is preferred. Should have 6+ years of commercial real estate finance experience (lending, credit, asset management, underwriting, and/or workout). Should preferably have 8+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance (see above).
