Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Litigation Attorney in Fargo, ND. The ideal candidate will have zero to five years of experience and a keen interest in general business, commercial, and civil litigation. This role requires a proactive individual with strong ethical standards and excellent communication skills.

Duties

• Conduct trials, gather evidence, and maintain files.
• Draft legal documents, discovery, pleadings, motions, briefs, and orders.
• Appear in court for hearings, pre-trials, bench trials, jury trials, motions, and appeals.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with the judiciary, court employees, other attorneys, and community professionals.
• Perform other assignments as directed by firm attorneys.

Requirements

• Licensed in North Dakota and/or Minnesota or eligible for immediate licensing.
• High ethical standards and a clean disciplinary record.
• Willingness to be in the courtroom.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• High-quality research and writing skills.
• Quick analytical ability and precise articulation of critical issues.
• Ability to work effectively with computer programs used by the courts.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school or anticipated completion if still in law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Dakota and/or Minnesota.
