A well-established national law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join its Madison, New Jersey office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with experience in insurance defense litigation to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment, handling sophisticated matters and developing professionally within a flexible, hybrid work setting.

Location

• Madison, New Jersey

Duties

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Collaborate closely with other attorneys and partners on complex legal matters

• Handle court appearances, mediations, and depositions

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda

• Communicate with clients regularly, providing status reports and legal updates

• Develop strategies for defense and case resolution

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, including general liability, personal injury defense, product liability defense, or construction defense

• Some experience with motion practice, report writing, discovery, and depositions preferred

• Trial and trial preparation experience is a plus

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in New Jersey

• Admission in New York considered a plus

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in legal drafting and case management
