Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Partner for its Garden City, New York office. The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience as a trial lawyer with more than ten verdicts in personal injury and automobile negligence actions. This role requires managing a litigation caseload from inception through trial and appeals, with a focus on UM/UIM, PIP, and other civil actions.

Duties

• Handle a high-volume caseload independently and with supervision.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery demands.
• Conduct depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.
• Develop and execute legal strategies with clients.
• Analyze medical records and insurance policies.
• Perform legal research and jury verdict searches.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Record and maintain billable hours accurately.
• Mentor junior associates and delegate tasks.

Requirements

• 8+ years' experience in defense litigation.
• Trial experience with at least ten jury verdicts.
• Experience in personal injury and automobile negligence defense.
• Proficiency in settling cases through negotiations, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Admitted to practice in New York and U.S. District Court for the District of New York.
• Additional Federal Court experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
