Associate Attorney II

Profile

A law firm in Highland, IN, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney II to join their team. The attorney will focus on handling a substantial caseload of insurance coverage matters, demonstrating strong legal skills and proficiency in managing multiple cases.

Job Duties:

• Manage a busy caseload of insurance coverage files, including both first- and third-party insurance matters.
• Draft, prepare, and handle coverage opinion letters and coverage position letters.
• Respond to complex and dispositive motions related to insurance coverage disputes.
• Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency to support case strategies.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions and interviews of parties and expert witnesses.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and provide status report correspondence.
• Assist in mediations and participate in court appearances as required.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana courts.
• Additional admission in Illinois is strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in the defense of insurance coverage and/or working within the insurance industry.
• Proficiency in both state and federal court procedures.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, superb organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple case files in a fast-paced environment.
