A fast-growing law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Trial Attorney to join its Omaha, Nebraska office. The successful candidate will represent clients in a range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings. Location

  • Omaha, Nebraska

Duties

  • Represent individuals and businesses in civil litigation proceedings, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, and hearings

  • Collaborate with clients and advisors to develop tailored litigation strategies

  • Draft and file motions, briefs, and other judicial pleadings

  • Conduct depositions, manage discovery, and handle trial preparation

  • Lead or participate in mediations and settlement discussions

  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and junior legal staff

  • Maintain and manage multiple case files while meeting critical deadlines

  • Contribute to business development efforts, such as writing legal content and participating in professional organizations

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery management, and trial preparation

  • Experience in at least one of the following practice areas:

    • Medical malpractice

    • Employment law

    • General commercial litigation

    • Civil litigation

  • Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills

  • Prior experience deposing and defending fact and expert witnesses

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Nebraska

  • Licensure in Iowa strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize workload

  • Technologically proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms
