Job Overview:
A law firm based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced litigation attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will handle a range of complex litigation matters with a focus on insurance defense, professional liability, and general liability disputes. The role involves hands-on litigation experience from pre-suit investigations through trial and appellate proceedings, providing a rewarding and challenging environment for an attorney committed to high-quality advocacy.

Duties:

• Evaluate legal claims and develop case strategies

• Analyze and interpret legal documents and case materials

• Conduct in-depth legal research and fact investigations

• Participate in client meetings to provide legal advice and strategic planning

• Prepare and take depositions, including expert and corporate witnesses

• Draft and argue motions, attend hearings, and mediations

• Write defense summaries and trial briefs

• Prepare for and assist in trial and appellate proceedings

• Collaborate with a litigation team on high-stakes matters across multiple industries

Requirements:

• Active license and good standing with the Georgia State Bar

• 4-6 years of experience in civil defense litigation

• Strong background in insurance defense and professional liability preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation matters independently

• Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and managing multiple priorities

• Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills

• Commitment to client service and collaborative teamwork

• Willingness to take initiative and contribute to team success

• Experience with financial documents and forensic review is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Georgia Bar admission required
