Job Overview

A nationally ranked labor and employment law firm is seeking a skilled Employment Litigation Associate to join its Chicago office. The role offers the opportunity to represent employers in complex litigation, with a strong emphasis on Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) claims and class action defense. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a strong background in employment law and litigation strategy. This position is ideal for attorneys looking to join a collaborative, nationally recognized legal team focused on employer-side workplace law.

Location

Duties

• Defend employers in lawsuits involving BIPA and class/collective action litigation

• Represent clients in federal and state courts, administrative agencies, arbitration, and mediation

• Advise and counsel employers on compliance with employment laws and best practices

• Conduct workplace training and assist with drafting employment policies and handbooks

• Handle all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Manage case strategy and client communication in a proactive, solution-oriented manner

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment law or commercial litigation

• Prior experience defending class actions and handling BIPA claims is highly preferred

• Deep understanding of federal and state employment statutes and procedures

• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

• Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar, or ability to obtain admission

Skills

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities
