General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected regional law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic litigation team handling a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including general liability, auto accidents, product liability, premises liability, and construction defect cases. The ideal candidate will have solid litigation experience and the ability to manage files from inception through trial or resolution.

Location:

• Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation related to general liability matters

• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other legal documents

• Conduct legal research and case analysis

• Take and defend depositions

• Represent clients at hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers

• Maintain case documentation and meet all procedural deadlines

Requirements:

• 4–6 years of insurance defense litigation experience

• Background in general liability, premises liability, auto, product liability, or construction defect cases

• Experience handling cases independently, including depositions and court appearances

• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required)

• Admission to the New York and/or Pennsylvania Bar (preferred)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar

• Additional bar admissions in New York and/or Pennsylvania are a plus

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and research capabilities

• Effective oral advocacy and negotiation skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking

• Proficient in litigation management software and legal research platforms
