Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of legal experience and will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients, drafting documents, conducting legal research, and handling complex legal matters in various litigation contexts. Location:

• Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

• Review and analyze newly assigned and existing matters to provide legal representation until resolution
• Draft necessary legal documents and ensure final documents are completed through office procedures
• Perform legal research using available resources such as libraries and computer data systems
• Formulate and issue legal opinions to clients
• Conduct negotiations when appropriate to resolve matters on behalf of clients
• Advise clients regularly on the status of their cases
• Maintain active membership in the state bar and complete required Continuing Legal Education (CLE) annually
• Follow the ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct and comply with firm’s professional liability insurer requirements
• Participate in the firm’s marketing efforts

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent
• 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation
• Knowledge of law and legal practice to perform substantive legal functions
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills to communicate with clients, attorneys, and staff
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
• Ability to handle legal matters with accuracy and attention to detail
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment
• Ability to travel locally and statewide for client-related matters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar in good standing
• Completion of required Continuing Legal Education (CLE) annually

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal software (iManage experience preferred)
