Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in the Greater Los Angeles Area is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its expanding immigration practice. This full-time position is ideal for attorneys with 1–4 years of immigration law experience who are passionate about advocating for clients in removal defense and family-based immigration matters. Duties:
Represent detained and non-detained clients in immigration court proceedings and before the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal advice for a wide range of immigration issues
Prepare and submit legal briefs, motions, and a variety of immigration applications
Manage a caseload and meet with clients regularly to provide updates and consultations
Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court testimony
Visit detention centers to conduct client intake as needed
Collaborate with law enforcement, community organizations, and other stakeholders on immigration-related matters
Review and revise immigration application packets for accuracy and completeness
Requirements:
1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law
Demonstrated experience handling removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, and citizenship matters
Strong case management skills with the ability to manage a full caseload
Team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel locally to detention centers and court appearances
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
California Bar admission preferred but not required
Skills:
Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Familiarity with USCIS and EOIR procedures
Proficiency in immigration case management software is a plus
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
