Job Overview

A respected national law firm is seeking a Complex Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Southern California offices, including locations in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Orange County. This role is ideal for attorneys with 2–8 years of litigation experience who are looking to advance their careers by handling high-stakes matters across general liability, catastrophic injury, transportation, and related areas. The role includes direct interaction with national clients and seasoned legal professionals. A hybrid work model is available to support work-life integration.

Location

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload independently from intake through resolution

• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex legal matters

• Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials

• Conduct investigations and gather evidence for defense strategy

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and provide detailed case reports

• Contribute to case strategy, risk assessment, and resolution planning

Requirements

• 2–8 years of litigation experience, preferably in defense-side matters

• Prior experience handling general liability, personal injury, transportation, and/or catastrophic injury cases

• Strong litigation acumen, including trial prep and motion practice

• Familiarity with client reporting standards and insurance guidelines

• Previous client-facing experience is a plus

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of California

Skills

• Comfortable with legal technology and document management systems
