A leading law firm is currently seeking a full-time USPTO-registered Patent Agent to support its Electronics & Software practice group. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to cutting-edge software technologies. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with legal teams and innovative clients across multiple industries, focusing on intellectual property strategy and portfolio development.

Duties:
Prepare and prosecute domestic and international patent applications in software-related fields
Advise clients on patent portfolio strategy and intellectual property protection
Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
Collaborate with attorneys and technical teams to support client goals
Review and edit technical documentation and writing samples
Maintain clear, organized communication with clients and legal colleagues
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
Proven ability to handle complex software and technology-based inventions
Strong communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with excellent writing and analytical capabilities
Willingness to work on-site in one of the firm’s designated office locations
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in one of the following fields:
Computer Science
Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mathematics
Physics
Or a closely related technical discipline
Certifications:
Active registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO Reg. No. required)

In-depth understanding of software technologies including:

Networking technologies
