Job Overview:
A Phoenix-based law firm with a strong commitment to advocating for immigrant communities is seeking a driven Associate Immigration Attorney. The role involves independent case management, direct client engagement, and strategic legal representation, primarily in removal proceedings and family-based immigration matters.

Duties:

• Develop litigation and application strategies tailored to individual immigration matters

• Prepare clients and witnesses for court proceedings and USCIS interviews

• Represent both detained and non-detained clients before Immigration Courts and the BIA

• Conduct visits and initial intake assessments at detention facilities

• Draft and file a wide array of immigration petitions, including humanitarian and family-based applications

• Review and revise case filings prepared by support staff

• Collaborate with community organizations, prosecutors, and law enforcement on legal developments

• Conduct in-depth consultations and provide legal strategy recommendations to potential clients

• Draft legal briefs and supporting documentation for complex immigration matters

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of immigration law practice

• Proficiency in removal defense and humanitarian-based immigration legal work

• Prior experience handling USCIS and EOIR matters

• Familiarity with representing clients in detained settings

• Capability to independently manage a high-volume caseload

• Strong communication and client-relations skills

• Willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented setting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Licensed and in good standing with a U.S. State Bar

Certifications:

• Active State Bar membership required (any jurisdiction)

Skills:

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred

• Strong legal writing and analytical skills

• Comfort with immigration case management systems (preferred)

• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity

• Adaptability and initiative in fast-paced environments
