A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability and Insurance Defense in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves engaging in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• 3+ years' experience in insurance defense and coverage preferred.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of Oregon or Washington; other states a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid research abilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work in a team environment.
• Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Oregon or Washington; other states a plus.
