Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate to join its Entertainment, Media, and Music practice in Los Angeles. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to work with a global roster of clients—including music labels, content producers, streaming platforms, and creative talent—on a variety of transactional matters. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in corporate and commercial entertainment law and be excited to contribute to a fast-paced and collaborative team handling industry-defining deals.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Handle corporate and commercial transactions in the entertainment, media, and music industries

• Structure and negotiate deals involving the purchase and sale of music catalogs

• Draft and review music publishing and recording agreements

• Advise clients on licensing matters for music and audiovisual content

• Assist with development, production, and distribution agreements across various media platforms

• Provide strategic counsel to clients, including production companies, talent agencies, institutional investors, and creatives

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and stakeholders on complex, high-profile deals

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of relevant legal experience in corporate and/or entertainment law

• Demonstrated interest and background in media, entertainment, and music industry transactions

• Experience working with music rights, publishing, or production contracts strongly preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited, nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission)

Skills:

• Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities

• Deep understanding of intellectual property as it pertains to music and media

• Exceptional written and verbal communication

• Business-minded with strong analytical and organizational skills
