A well-established litigation firm with a strong regional presence is seeking an experienced Of Counsel Attorney for its Long Island, New York office. This role is ideal for a senior litigator with significant experience in construction law, general liability, and insurance defense. Location

• East Meadow, New York

Duties

• Manage a caseload involving general liability, insurance defense, transportation, and NYS Labor Law construction matters

• Serve as first or second chair in trials, mediations, and court proceedings

• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, legal memoranda, and case strategy documentation

• Conduct and defend depositions

• Advise clients and provide consistent updates on case status and litigation strategies

• Collaborate with legal teams and partners on complex, high-stakes matters

• Engage in OSHA hearings and regulatory compliance matters when applicable

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience in general liability or construction-related matters

• Substantial courtroom and trial preparation experience

• Demonstrated success managing complex litigation independently

• Background in Corporation Counsel or District Attorney’s Office is a plus

• Prior exposure to OSHA proceedings and compliance work preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of NYS Labor Laws §§200, 240, and 241

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Proficiency in litigation management systems and legal research tools

• High-level organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills

• Ability to mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with cross-functional teams
