This role is integral to shaping legal strategies pre-trial, during litigation, and through the appellate process. The position involves close collaboration with trial teams to ensure robust legal argumentation and preservation of issues for appeal.

Duties:

• Draft persuasive pre- and post-trial motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment

• Compose appellate briefs and present oral arguments before state or federal appellate courts

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support strategic case development

• Examine trial court records to identify and preserve appellate issues

• Coordinate with litigation teams to ensure thorough record development for potential appeals

• Track evolving legal precedents and apply updates to pending cases

• Provide advisory insights to legal teams and clients regarding appellate options and risks

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation or appellate law

• Proven ability to handle high-stakes legal research and writing

• Familiarity with appellate rules and filing procedures in state and federal courts

• Adept at balancing multiple case deadlines and working in a fast-paced legal setting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized and accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of New York (or eligibility for admission by waiver or reciprocity)
