Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm based in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Litigation Associate to join its litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-stakes civil litigation matters involving general liability, construction disputes, and professional design claims. The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced litigators in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while gaining hands-on experience across all phases of litigation.

Duties:

• Support senior attorneys with managing active litigation dockets from initial filing through trial

• Communicate directly with clients and insurance representatives

• Participate in the preparation of witnesses for depositions and courtroom appearances

• Engage and collaborate with expert consultants

• Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, discovery requests, and other filings

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft legal memoranda

• Prepare and argue motions in court, including those governed by MA Superior Court Rule 9A

• Contribute to case strategy, settlement negotiations, and mediation sessions

• Evaluate liability and damages exposure with attention to detail and legal accuracy

• Assist with trial preparation, logistics, and in-court support

• Maintain timely and precise billing records

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience focused on general liability, construction, or design-related disputes

• Active license to practice law in Massachusetts; licensure in other New England jurisdictions is a plus

• Prior experience handling written discovery and motion practice in Massachusetts courts

• Demonstrated ability to manage assignments independently

• Strong organizational habits and attention to deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Massachusetts (Required)

• Admission in additional New England states (Preferred)

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and persuasive writing capabilities

• Sound analytical judgment and issue-spotting abilities

• Effective verbal communication and courtroom advocacy skills

• Strong multitasking aptitude and ability to prioritize in a litigation setting

• Team-oriented with the capacity to collaborate on complex legal matters
