Labor amp Employment Litigation Associate

Profile

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with at least two years of experience to join its Las Vegas office in the Labor & Employment practice group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney to engage in a diverse and dynamic caseload that spans multiple areas of labor and employment law. The ideal candidate will have the chance to work on both individual employment disputes and larger-scale wage and hour class actions, collaborating with sophisticated clients and handling cutting-edge legal issues.

Duties:

• Lead and manage cases in the areas of labor and employment, including single plaintiff employment disputes and wage & hour class/PAGA actions.
• Represent clients in a variety of litigation matters, from pre-trial proceedings through to resolution, including court appearances and settlement negotiations.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests with attention to detail and legal accuracy.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on employment-related issues, including compliance with state and federal labor laws.
• Contribute to team efforts by sharing insights and helping develop case strategies for complex litigation.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, ensuring they are well-informed of case developments and any potential risks.
• Participate in continuing education programs and formal mentorship, enhancing your legal expertise and professional growth.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on labor and employment law.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive arguments and legal documents.
• Proven ability to manage litigation cases independently and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• A client-centric approach with an emphasis on providing timely and practical legal solutions.
• Ability to navigate complex legal issues while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a diverse caseload.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Nevada.

Skills:

• Legal research proficiency with the ability to analyze and interpret complex labor laws and employment regulations.
• Expertise in drafting and filing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery materials.
• Negotiation skills and experience in mediation and settlement discussions.
