Day to Day:
Represent clients including insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.
Draft and prepare client correspondence and legal pleadings.
Attend court appearances as required.
Manage and maintain case calendars.
Conduct depositions and cross-examinations, including those of medical professionals.
Negotiate settlements for workers' compensation files and lien claims.
Proactively manage caseloads to ensure efficient progress.
Mentor and supervise legal assistants.
Cultivate strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
Participate in marketing events with both new and existing clients.
Review and work on case files, accurately entering time into billing software.
Input and update case information in PracticeMaster.
Ensure all deadlines are met for client correspondence.
Attend client file review meetings.
Conduct training seminars for clients on updates in workers' compensation case law.
Maintain current knowledge of workers' compensation case law and statutes.
Must Haves:
3+ years of experience practicing Workers' Compensation law.
Active membership in the California Bar is required.
Track record of successfully advocating on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.
Skilled in preparing professional correspondence for clients.
Familiarity with drafting legal pleadings.
Proven ability to effectively negotiate settlements for workers' compensation files and lien claims.
Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees
