Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm is currently seeking an Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney for their Pittsburgh office with 3-5 years of insurance coverage and commercial litigation experience. The attorney will play a crucial role in handling insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors' and officers' insurance policies. The position requires extensive civil litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing all facets of discovery and discovery motion practice, conducting depositions, and making court appearances (commensurate with experience level). The ideal candidate will also have experience with business development, client management, and independent case management. Excellent academic credentials and superior research and writing ability are essential.

Duties:

• Understand insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors' and officers insurance policies.
• Handle extensive civil litigation in areas such as drafting pleadings and dispositive motions.
• Manage all facets of discovery and discovery motion practice.
• Conduct depositions and make court appearances (commensurate with experience level).
• Experience with business development and client management.
• Independently manage cases.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of insurance coverage and commercial litigation experience.
• Extensive civil litigation experience.
• Familiarity with drafting pleadings and dispositive motions.
• Proficient in discovery processes and motion practice.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
