Partner-level Family Law Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Whippany, NJ, is seeking an experienced and accomplished Partner Family Law Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience, extensive trial experience, and the ability to handle divorce trials. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 30-40 cases, with at least 50% of the practice dedicated to family law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and related issues.
• Provide clients with expert legal advice and representation in all family law matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality pleadings, motions, and documents.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and mediations, demonstrating strong advocacy skills.
• Develop and implement effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing their concerns.
• Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the New Jersey State Bar.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in family law, with substantial trial experience and the ability to handle divorce trials.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certifications and Skills:

• Certification in Family Law is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
