Job Overview:
A growing defense litigation firm based in New York City is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 4 to 6 years of experience in general liability and New York Labor Law matters. This role focuses on defending clients in construction site accident cases involving owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, courtroom-ready, and has experience managing cases through discovery and depositions.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Defend construction site accident claims involving Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6)

• Represent owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in liability cases

• Handle court appearances, depositions, and motion practice throughout NYC

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery responses, and summary judgment motions

• Provide case analysis and strategy recommendations to supervising attorneys and clients

• Maintain communication with clients, experts, and other counsel throughout the litigation process

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in general liability and Labor Law litigation

• Prior experience in defending construction-related accident cases

• Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision

• Willingness to travel for depositions and court appearances across the five boroughs

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills:

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Courtroom confidence and deposition experience

• Ability to manage multiple matters with attention to detail and deadlines

• Legal research and analytical skills to assess liability and damages

• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment
