Job Overview:

A reputable law firm based in Dallas, TX, seeks a committed and experienced Immigration Associate to represent individuals in removal proceedings and manage defensive immigration matters. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney passionate about advocacy, courtroom representation, and contributing to a collaborative legal team. The role involves substantial client interaction, legal strategy development, and hands-on immigration litigation work.

Duties:

  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before EOIR (Immigration Court) and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Handle USCIS filings and defensive applications such as I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, and SIJS

  • Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for various immigration matters

  • Prepare filings including I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa applications

  • Conduct client consultations and develop case strategies

  • Oversee a team of paralegals and ensure timely, high-quality client service

  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal support staff in case development and litigation preparation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of focused experience in immigration law

  • Familiarity with EOIR proceedings and detained/non-detained defense strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required

  • Ability to thrive in a team-based, client-facing environment

  • Proficiency with immigration case management software is an advantage

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Certifications:

  • Good standing with any State Bar in the United States

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written advocacy

  • Exceptional client communication and counseling

  • Leadership ability in managing paralegal teams

  • Strategic thinking in removal and humanitarian cases

  • Bilingual capabilities (especially English/Spanish) are beneficial
