Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Omaha is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to handle a wide range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination. The successful candidate will have experience in defending and litigating employment lawsuits, providing legal counsel to employers, and managing complex employment matters in various forums. This role demands strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties:

• Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
• Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration.
• Handle class/collective actions and complex employment matters.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to employers on compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations.
• Manage all phases of employment litigation, from initial case assessment to trial preparation and resolution.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions to resolve disputes effectively.
• Stay current on developments in employment law and related procedures at both the state and federal levels.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in employment law preferred.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active admission to the Nebraska Bar or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
• Understanding of current court procedures and employment-related agency processes (state and federal).
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, with the ability to work independently on various assignments.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active admission to the Nebraska Bar or ability to obtain admission promptly.
