Job Title: General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Atlanta, GA, seeks a skilled General Liability Litigation Associate to join its dynamic legal team. Duties:

• Review case files and perform thorough legal analysis of claims and defenses

• Conduct extensive legal research and draft detailed briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate submissions

• Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1,950 hours

• Represent clients at court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitration proceedings

• Prepare and respond to written discovery requests

• Coordinate with and retain expert witnesses, including preparing them for testimony

• Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and participate in trials when necessary

• Travel occasionally for court appearances, depositions, and client meetings

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience handling General Liability matters, with a focus on transportation/automobile cases

• Proven ability to manage civil litigation files independently from inception through resolution

• Experience conducting and defending depositions, including corporate representative (30(b)(6)) and expert depositions

• Skilled in drafting and arguing substantive motions and attending hearings, and trials

• Background in participating in settlement negotiations and mediations

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Georgia (admission in additional states is a plus)

• Strong analytical reasoning and complex problem-solving skills

• Exceptional research, writing, and verbal communication abilities

• Highly organized with a self-driven work ethic and ability to collaborate within a team

• Timely responsiveness to client, colleague, and court communications

• Excellent client service orientation and professional demeanor over the phone and in person

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Georgia State Bar is required

• Admission to additional jurisdictions is considered an asset
