Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate to join its commercial mortgage-backed securities special servicer and creditors’ rights team. This role involves handling commercial foreclosures, receiverships, real estate-related litigation, and bankruptcy matters. Location:

• Southfield, MI

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of commercial foreclosure and receivership litigation.
• Handle bankruptcy-related litigation, including motion practice and discovery (including e-discovery).
• Represent clients in courtroom proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Advise on commercial landlord-tenant disputes, including preparing and serving predicate notices and court pleadings.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation.
• Strong background in handling real estate-related litigation matters.
• Experience in commercial landlord-tenant litigation preferred.
• Courtroom experience and proficiency in litigation strategy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar admission and good standing in the state of practice.

Skills:

• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
