Job Overview: A reputable law firm in Raleigh, NC, is looking for an experienced and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will represent clients in a variety of family law matters, providing legal counsel on sensitive issues such as divorce, child custody, alimony, and domestic violence. This role requires a compassionate and strategic professional who is adept at managing complex cases, offering practical solutions, and advocating for clients in emotionally charged environments.

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law court proceedings, ensuring their interests are effectively represented.
• Manage and maintain organized client files, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant.
• Develop case strategies based on a thorough understanding of client needs and legal circumstances.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court orders.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including other attorneys and paralegals, to ensure efficient case progression.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in mediations or hearings.
• Advise clients on various legal matters, offering guidance in challenging and emotionally taxing situations.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in family law practice.
• Proven ability to manage a wide range of family law matters, including child custody, support, divorce, and domestic violence.
• Strong litigation experience, including drafting and filing legal pleadings, conducting discovery, and courtroom appearances.
• Experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, client-focused approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar and eligibility to practice in North Carolina.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills:

• Expertise in family law, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and child support.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in legal research, case preparation, and drafting legal documents.
• Ability to handle high-conflict situations with professionalism and poise.
• Comfortable managing a large caseload with attention to detail.
