A law firm in Redwood City, CA, is seeking a Senior Insurance and Reinsurance Career Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage and complex litigation. The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors' and officers' insurance policies. They should also have excellent academic credentials, superior research and writing abilities, and must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze insurance policies and provide detailed coverage opinions to clients.
• Handle complex insurance coverage litigation matters involving professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Participate in all aspects of litigation, from discovery through trial and potential appeals.
• Provide strategic counsel to clients on insurance and reinsurance issues.
• Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and experts to develop effective litigation strategies.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing insurance coverage law and handling complex litigation matters.
• In-depth knowledge of coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance policies.
• Excellent academic credentials with a proven record of academic and professional success.
• Exceptional research and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with reinsurance matters and disputes.
• Previous experience in a law firm environment specializing in insurance defense or coverage litigation.
• Familiarity with California state and federal court procedures.
