Duties

• Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, and trials

• Conduct client interviews and prepare case strategies

• Draft and file legal motions, pleadings, and other defense-related documents

• Negotiate plea deals with prosecutors when appropriate

• Maintain client communications throughout case progression

• Appear in court and advocate effectively on behalf of clients

• Collaborate with legal staff to prepare case files and documentation

Requirements

• 1–2 years of criminal defense experience (more experience welcome)

• Fluent in Spanish (required)

• Strong courtroom presence and comfort with oral advocacy

• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines

• Commitment to client advocacy and ethical legal practice

• Friendly, team-oriented demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas
