Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Employment Litigation Attorney to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This role involves leading and expanding the PAGA and employment law practice group, handling high-value cases from intake through verdict, and representing employees across California.

Duties

• Handle a full caseload of employment litigation matters, including PAGA representative actions, wage & hour class actions, and wrongful termination/retaliation claims.
• Manage cases independently through all stages: pre-litigation, discovery, law and motion, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
• Conduct depositions, argue substantive motions, and first/second chair trials.
• Strategically evaluate cases, advise clients, and develop case strategies that maximize value.
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with the leadership team to grow the employment law division.

Requirements

• Active California State Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in employment law litigation with significant PAGA and wage & hour experience.
• Demonstrated trial experience (first or second chair in employment cases strongly preferred).
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• California State Bar license.
