Job Title: Junior to Mid-Level Structured Finance Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Short Hills, NJ, is seeking a talented associate with 3–5 years of experience in derivatives and structured finance to support its dynamic Structured Finance practice. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven legal professional to work on complex financial transactions, including documentation under ISDA protocols and regulatory frameworks. The position is available through a legal recruiting firm acting on behalf of the hiring law firm.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate key documents under ISDA Master Agreements, including:

  • Schedule

  • Credit Support Annex

  • Confirmations and related derivative instruments

• Interpret and apply Dodd-Frank and similar ISDA regulatory protocols

• Provide legal support on structured finance matters and over-the-counter derivatives

• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to facilitate transactions

• Research and resolve complex regulatory and contractual issues

• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations

• Handle assignments independently and manage timelines efficiently

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of focused experience in derivatives and structured finance

• Previous experience at a nationally recognized or large law firm preferred

• Familiarity with ISDA documentation and regulatory frameworks

• Proven ability to handle client relationships and transactions with minimal supervision

• Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in New Jersey
