A well-established litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join their team. This position is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience at a private law firm. Location:

• Smithtown, NY

Duties:

• Draft and respond to pleadings, including complaints, answers, and counterclaims

• Prepare detailed motions, memoranda, and appellate briefs for complex legal issues

• Conduct oral arguments in court

• Manage discovery, identify key evidence, and craft effective discovery requests

• Conduct and defend depositions to gather critical information

• Assist in trial preparation, including witness outlines, exhibit preparation, and legal strategy development

• Research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to support innovative legal arguments

• Use AI tools to streamline research, generate document templates, and uncover insights

• Efficiently manage multiple assignments, consistently meeting deadlines with high-quality work product

• Work on high-impact cases, including civil rights, employment, real estate, and commercial litigation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of complex litigation experience at a private law firm

• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently while delivering high-quality work

• Experience with motion practice, depositions, oral arguments, and discovery

• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills

• Ability to apply statutes, regulations, and case law to develop persuasive legal arguments

• Creative thinker who can solve complex legal challenges

• Team player with a proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• A commitment to continuously developing legal skills, including mastering AI tools

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member of the state bar

Skills:

• Expertise in complex litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and depositions

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Critical legal reasoning and ability to craft innovative legal arguments

• Familiarity with AI tools for legal research and case management

• Excellent oral advocacy skills
