Job Overview

A nationally recognized defense law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Milwaukee office. This position is well-suited for attorneys with at least three years of experience in civil litigation who are looking to expand their practice in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role includes hands-on litigation experience with opportunities for direct client interaction, courtroom exposure, and collaboration with senior attorneys. A hybrid work schedule is available.

Location

• Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Duties

• Assist with all phases of litigation from inception through resolution

• Prepare and respond to discovery requests

• Draft and argue pretrial motions, including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment

• Attend court hearings, mediations, and depositions

• Conduct legal research and analysis

• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys in case strategy

• Assist in preparing matters for trial, including witness preparation and exhibits

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation

• Experience with matters involving construction, transportation, insurance coverage, or general liability preferred

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin or eligible for reciprocal admission

• Active and in good standing with applicable bar association(s)

Skills

• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Strong interpersonal and client communication abilities

• Proficient in legal research platforms and litigation management tools

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex caseloads efficiently
